Frosted Fingers & Tingling toes...

"There is nothing in the world more beautiful than the forest clothed to its very hollows in snow. It is the ecstasy of nature, wherein every spray, every blade of grass, every spire of reed, every intricacy of twig, is clad with radiance"- William Sharp.
It was beyond freezing on Sunday the 24th of July, everything outside was covered in snow. The place looked amazing with a white snow glow.I managed to get out in the snow without slipping over to throw a few snowballs before my fingers went numb and boots soaked through. The snow continued to fall on Monday but started to melt away in the afternoon. Today I went exploring at the park nearby to take some picutres of what was left of the cold weekend.

This is a daffodil bulb emerging from the snow which I took to be a promising sign of spring to come.
check out some raw video footage taken of the cold weekend...on the Otago Daily Times website
